Student ID cards
Students should contact idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk for any questions regarding student ID cards. If possible, please include the barcode number on the back of your student ID card in your email.

If your ID card has been lost or stolen, you should first let the campus card services team know by emailing idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk. They'll be able to advise whether it's been handed in.
If your card has been lost or stolen during the weekend (5pm on Friday to 9am on Monday), report this on MySaint.

If you've lost your card - £20
Cancel your card and order a replacement via MySaint:
- Log in to MySaint.
- Click the Library and IT tab.
- Scroll down to the Lost ID Cards widget.
- Tick the I understand that my card will be cancelled box.
- Click Report card lost.
Afterwards, you'll receive an email with a link to the online shop so you can pay the £20 replacement fee.
If you haven't lost your card - free
Contact idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk so they can issue you with a replacement card. Don't cancel your card in MySaint as you'll need to bring your old card when collecting your new one.
You aren't required to pay if:
- the date of your course needs to be updated
- your card is damaged
- there's an error with your card
Collecting your new card
Campus Card Services will email you when your new card is ready to be collected from the Main Library.
ID cards aren't printed over the weekend. If you order a new card after 4pm on Friday, it won't be printed until the following Monday.

If you'd like to change your student ID photo, you can supply a new photo to campus card services. This costs £20.
In order for your photo to be approved it must be:
- clear and in focus
- in colour
- unaltered by computer software
- at least 600 pixels wide and 750 pixels tall
- at least 50KB and no more than 10MB.
The digital photo must:
- contain no other objects or people
- be taken against a plain light-coloured background
- be in clear contrast to the background
- not have red eye.
In your photo you must:
- be facing forwards and looking straight at the camera
- have a plain expression and your mouth closed
- have your eyes open and visible
- not have hair in front of your eyes
- not have a head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)
- not have anything covering your face
- not have any shadows on your face or behind you
- not wear sunglasses or tinted glasses. If you require glasses, ensure your eyes aren't covered by the frame or any glare, reflection or shadow.
Ensure your new photo follows the photo guidelines and email it to idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk.

If you're having problems with your ID card, email idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk so it can be fixed or replaced with a new one.
If you can't get into a building
- Check you have access in the first place. If the room or building you need is within a:
- School, contact the School manager or admin office.
- professional service unit, contact the building contact or admin office.
- hall of residence, contact the residence service manager.
- Check the opening hours of the building. Although you have access to the building during normal working hours, you might need to request access if you want to get in out of hours.
- Let campus card services know by emailing idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk.
If you can't borrow books from the Library
Let campus card services know by emailing idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk.
If the information on your student card is wrong
- Email idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk to let them know the correct information, whether it's your name or a date. Include your student ID number.
- You'll receive an email once the information has been updated.
- Pick up your new card from the Main Library. Remember to take your old card with you or you may be charged the £20 replacement fee.
