Hall information

Dundee is a vibrant and diverse urban community. It has a range of multi-faith and cultural communities, international grocery shops and restaurants, museums, galleries and theatres, live music venues, and student bars.

There are apartments of two to five bedrooms available, sharing a kitchen and bathroom.

The University of St Andrews is working with Mears Student Life to offer this accommodation.

 

Location

The Old Mill is a 10-minute walk from Dundee railway station and Dundee's main shopping centre, and a 15-minute walk from Dundee bus station.

This means you can get to the University in under an hour using public transport.

Community

There is an active Halls Life team at Old Mill. The team organises social events, develops student community, and supports student wellbeing.

Culture and religion

Old Mill is close to the world-famous Dundee V&A museum and the royal research ship 'Discovery'. There are churches, synagogues, and mosques in the local area. 

Sport and fitness

There are many options for sport and fitness in the city:

  • professional football and ice hockey teams
  • an indoor climbing centre 
  • a 50-metre swimming pool 
  • a water park offering paddle boarding and wakeboarding.  

Healthcare

There is a range of NHS dentist options to choose from, as well as private healthcare providers. 

Bedroom

Cleaning

Support

All University halls of residence have their own Halls Life and wardennial team who live within the hall and are trained to support students with advice on anything from academic matters through to first aid. New students will meet their warden and team of assistant wardens during their moving in weekend.
